Dr. Malafronte joined RHA in 2017 from the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, in Bethesda, MD. At this prestigious institution, Dr. Malafronte served as the Director of Surgical Pathology, Director of Immunohistochemistry and of John Murtha Cancer Center's Biobank. In addition, he served as an Associate Director for the Residency Program from 2013-2014. Prior to this work, Dr. Malafronte served as staff pathologist and Director of the Cytopathology and Microbiology laboratories at the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in Ft.Hood, TX. 

A graduate of the Albany Medical College in Albany, NY, Dr. Malafronte completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the National Capital Consortium, Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, DC, and a fellowship in neuropathology at the University of Texas Southwestern, in Dalllas, TX. Dr. Malafronte is the recipient of numerous achivement and commendation recognitions. 

Certified in both anatomic and clinical pathology, as well as neuropathology, Dr. Malafronte is a member of the American Academy of Neuropathologists, the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, and the College of American Pathologists.
